The Chinese security solutions manufacturer Hikvision has announced plans to integrate its cameras with the Kolkata-based Videonetics’ video management software (VMS). The company claims that the integration will allow advanced processes like video analytics.
With Videonetics’ Intelligent Video Management System (IVMS), customers can access videos real-time, record footage and switch between camera views instantly. The software will also allow the export of footage or snapshots from the cameras for advanced analytic processes like crowd monitoring, perimeter protection, traffic monitoring, object classification, object of interest, etc.
In a statement, Avinash Trivedi, VP of Business Development at Videonetics said that he believes the integration will help customers set up more effective video surveillance solutions in both public and private sectors worldwide.
Hikvision, on its part, highlighted its self-developed H265+ technology, adding that this will compress the video efficiently and lowering the costs associated with storage and bandwidth. The company claims that field tests have revealed its H265+ dramatically lowers the bitrate of ultra-high definition video by as much as 67 percent when compared with H.265.
“Hikvision offers a Technology Partner Platform for partners to jointly develop versatile solutions needed by end-users,” said Adler Wu, Global Technology Alliance Manager at Hikvision. “Our H.265+ codec technology provides a more effective compression solution that allows our customers to achieve unhindered video transmission under limited bandwidth conditions and great savings on storage without compromising image quality.”
